Getting started with web design

It may seem simple when you build a file. It looks right on screen but will your project be set up correctly to print? In the previous tip about image compression the quality of images was discussed. But what about vector based artwork such as logos, colour panels and text.

Before you design your artwork a game plan should be addressed. How many colours will the project be is the first question you should be asking. If the project is to be spot colours how do I set these up correctly?

One major thing that too often gets overlooked is using for example Pantone 021 C and Pantone 021 CVC and expecting them to separate on the same plate. They are in fact two different colours and when setting up a file in different programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark you need to remember to keep consistency with your colour naming.
