Getting started with web design

Varnish has traditionally been used to add a layer of protection to a printed piece when applied as a full covering. Today it is used in design to create special effects when applied as spot varnish.

When the desired effect is to highlight a specific area of the sheet, we use a spot varnish with either a gloss or matt finish.

Another way to protect your project is celloglasing. This is a thin film of gloss or matt plastic that is applied to the paper. Celloglase can also add depth to colour and provide a luxurious feel to your project.

DIE CUTTING, HOW CAN I USE IT?

Wanting a unique folder? A business card with rounded corners? An interlocking presentation folder? Die cutting has been around well before the start of the 19th century. Today the principles are still the same. The dies are steel rule knives that are mounted in plywood to the shape that requires cutting or scoring.

Chat to us about some of the many standard cutting knives we have for your use, or how we go about creating a special knife for your project.
